X fordamatic, not only was petrol consumption high, but the 390 FE was rev'n at about 3000 on the motorway. No way to care for the big block engine. The three speed was okay around town, but this daily driver just lacked top end economy and comfort
Economics and fear of un-necessary engine wear was one thing, but it just took something away from the drive and we knew that there was more the T-Bird could offer. With Plenty of power and the potential to be a great town driver and open road cruiser we knew the solution was simple; a 4 speed trans with lock up and endless shift control options. Unfortunately there was no 4 speed to match to the big block FE… problem?

Exciting times at Kaspa Transmissions – 6/12/12
Ex Warriors, Leeds and Kiwis coach Brian "Bluey" McClennan joins the Kaspa Transmissions Group.
Brian/Bluey has taken up the Kaspa Silverdale Franchise and now has the business up and running.
Before coaching professionally Bluey owned a windscreen business on the Hibiscus Coast. The transmission business is somewhat different, but Brian will be ably assisted by his workshop manager Glenn Clarke.
Glenn has 17 years’ experience in this business. He has just finished ten years at Kaspa Glenfield and is looking forward to this new challenge in his life.

“This is an exciting time to team up with Kaspa Glenfield and Otahuhu.” “The attraction of starting Kaspa Silverdale is in knowing we will have the vast knowledge and experience of Kaspa Transmission Ltd 36 years in the industry.”
“My family and I have a strong connection with the Rodney District, living up on the Hibiscus Coast since 1991.” “We feel this is a good opportunity to build the Kaspa Transmissions Franchise into our thriving community.”
“I will manage the office and Glen will manage the workshop.”
“We are both looking forward to building relationships with fellow automotive
workshops on the Coast.”
